Salem is one of the few race cities in the nation to have a racetrack dedicated to the sport.  Located on the north side of Bush Park, it's minutes away from Salem's city center.

Here are traveling directions to the track.

The Salem Shilo Inn, located at 3304 Market Street, has a special room rate for those that mention the "Soap Box Derby" rate.  The rate is $59.95 for 1-2 people with children 12 and under staying for free. The Salem Shilo Inn is conveniently located off I-5.
All of their rooms are mini-suites and include microwaves, fridges, coffee makers, hairdryers, ironing boards and irons. Their list of amenities include: a deluxe continental breakfast, in room movies and a pool, spa and fitness center.

In September, 2000, Salem's track was repaved, covering some cracks and giving it a whole new look!  It's so smooth, you can barely hear the cars go by now!  Come out and see just how much the City of Salem supports the Derby!
